When the lyric said cuento

A bus that never came. A cold mate in a dark corner. A compass stuck on south. Dice. Cards. A bottle from too many kitchens.

That looks like a moodboard. It was a song.

I wrote the verses first. Then After Effects. I tried not to invent a world. The world was already throwing things. Arrojaba esa. She threw a broken sky. I caught props.

You do not press play and wait for the type. You listen until the objects get specific. Not sad. A mate that went cold. Not lost. A bondi that never showed. If the lyric is generic, the frame is generic.

Then the bridge.

Es como el truco mal jugado. Una partida perdida antes del dado. Y aunque la sigo, vuelve al mismo cuento. Como un faro apagado en medio del puerto.

On cuento I drew the hat from The Little Prince. Not to take a page. Because that word, for me, still opens the same book I had when I was small. Drawings in the margin. A hat that was never only a hat. You read something once with pictures and it stays in the body. Years later a lyric says cuento and the hand already knows what to put on the frame.

That is the job. Not a style. A childhood that still answers.

The last chorus is the other honest frame. I said I would not sit at that table. Then I did. You swear you are not making another lyric video. Then you add a hat because a word told you to.

Life is a long campaign. Some of it started with a book you could hold.
