Same hands

I put Hey Laura on the book this week. Lyrics, music, art direction, animation. Same hands on both sides of the record. That line keeps showing up because it is true, not because it sounds good on a card.

The pink street was already in my head before the frames were. Bubble tea in my hand in After Effects, which is funny, because I do not even like bubble tea. I put it there anyway. Looks good. That is the whole defense.

Then the coat. When the lyric says I do not live like the tranza, the guy in the hat and gabardine opens up and shows the watches. Suspicious on purpose. The line drew him. I just had to dress him.

I used to treat lyric videos like decoration on top of a finished song. This one is the release. YouTube, Spotify, four stills on the site. No poster for somebody else’s track.

Not announcing anything. Just glad the pink world is out of the hard drive.
